Eligibility Criteria

  • No restrictions on field of study (as long as the program is eligible for Clarendon funding)

  • Candidates must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, typically ranking at the top 5–10% of their class

  • Students currently enrolled at Oxford may apply only if applying for a second graduate degree

Ineligible Programs:

  • Postgraduate diplomas or certificate programs

  • Short-term or non-degree offerings

Selection Process

  • No separate application is required for the Clarendon Scholarship.

  • All applicants who apply for a graduate course at Oxford by the relevant December or January deadline are automatically considered.

  • The selection process includes departmental review, ranking by merit, and nomination to the Clarendon Fund.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified via direct email and provided with details on acceptance procedures.


How to Apply

Step 1: Choose a Graduate Program

Visit the official Oxford Graduate Admissions Website to explore eligible programs.

Step 2: Prepare Required Documents

Gather and prepare standard Oxford application materials, including:

  • Personal statement

  • Academic transcripts

  • Letters of recommendation

  • Writing samples (if required)

  • Standardized test scores (e.g., GRE/GMAT, if applicable by course)

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Step 4: Automatic Consideration

There is no separate Clarendon application form. Your course application will automatically be considered for the scholarship if submitted on time.

Step 5: Wait for Notification

If shortlisted, you will receive an offer from the Clarendon Fund, and subsequently from your assigned Oxford college. You must accept and complete any scholarship documentation as instructed.

⚠️ Note: Deferred offers are not reconsidered in future years. A new application must be submitted if you defer your graduate offer.
