MCW Global Young Leaders Conference in Kenya 2025

The MCW Global Young Leaders Conference in Kenya 2025 is a fully funded opportunity for young professionals, advocates, and organizers in mental health to strengthen their leadership and community engagement skills. Organized under the Sawa Project, this initiative empowers young leaders from East Africa to combat mental health stigma through awareness campaigns, seed-funded projects, and sustained mentorship.

This international leadership program, held in Nairobi, Kenya, is a collaborative effort by MCW Global, The Kofi Annan Foundation, and the Africa Alliance of YMCAs. Participants will undergo a three-day intensive in-person conference followed by a series of webinars and project implementation phases aimed at lasting impact in their home communities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age between 25 and 35 years

  • Must be a citizen of Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, or Uganda

  • Actively engaged in mental health through studies, professional roles, or community work

  • Committed to developing cross-cultural understanding and professional leadership

  • Must attend the full conference and three post-conference webinars (Sept 20 – Oct 20, 2025)

  • Willing to submit and implement a project proposal with seed funding

  • Must have internet access and email for post-conference communication

  • Must complete the application before the deadline
