The United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) invites applications to the Youth Leader Fund for a World Without Nuclear Weapons 2026—a hybrid, fully funded leadership program aimed at empowering the next generation of global advocates for disarmament and peace.

This unique program combines four months of online training with a six-day in-person study tour to Japan, where participants will engage with atomic bomb survivors (hibakusha) in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If you’re committed to creating a safer future, this international opportunity will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and global network to amplify your voice on the world stage.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be 18 to 29 years old

  • Open to applicants from all academic and professional backgrounds

  • No prior knowledge of disarmament or nuclear policy required

  • Must commit 4–6 hours/week for online activities

  • Proficiency in English required

  • Must have:

    • A reliable internet connection

    • A device with audio and video capabilities

  • For in-person study tour:

    • Must be available for 6–7 days in Q2 of 2026

    • Must have valid travel documents and global medical insurance

    • Visa (if required)

    • Medical insurance certificate
